Finale

Many thanks to Elissa Baker for constructing the blog site, which will be able to be used in future years. We know there is wireless access from our Canberra location. Unfortunately, there were some problems with the access codes provided which prevented us from using the facility efficiently.

Friday night saw 48 tired but very happy campers return to Perth. This year’s group of students was the largest to be taken on tour. Their behaviour was outstanding and we have received many positive comments from airline staff, volunteer guides and members of the public. There were many highlights and the photographs taken reflect these.

Special thanks to Mrs Williams for her dedication to organising airfares, bookings, folders and more. It is largely due to her efforts that the tour runs so smoothly.

Having Fun

I have finally managed to negotiate the wireless internet access. Tuesday saw the students have a fantastic day at Charlotte Pass with sufficient snow to saturate each other, build snowmen and conduct the 2008 toboggan championships – Tom Middleditch was the successful champion.

Today they had fun with lots of hands-on activities in Questacon, took a tour through the art gallery and spent 3 hours in the National War Memorial.

All are well, though a couple have experienced the expected home sickness.

Phone Call from Mr Guile

Spoke to Mike Guile today. He reported that the kids are all great and well behaved. They’ve been doing alot of walking and there has not been one complaint from them. All are healthy and enjoying themselves, even the teachers.

Sunrise Appearance

I haven’t heard from the happy campers yet but I did see them on Weekend Sunrise, waving in the plaza.

Off they go!

Well…. they all made it onto the plane, just a little late. There were a few tears, and not only from the students, (although  I did see some parents cheering.)
